Delete my data
Last updated: May 2026
You can delete all your Meditag data at any time. This page explains where your data is stored and how to remove it.
Where is data stored?
Meditag stores data in two possible places:
- On your device – Medication plan, dose history, vitals readings and settings. This data never leaves your device unless you enable the optional encrypted backup.
- On our server (only if you have enabled backup) – An anonymous patient hash and an encrypted blob. We cannot read the contents.
If you have never enabled backup, no data about you exists on our server.
Step 1 – Delete local data (in the app)
To delete all data on your device:
- Open Meditag.
- Tap Settings (bottom right).
- Scroll to Your data.
- Tap Clear all local data.
- Confirm the deletion.
All locally stored medications, doses, vitals and settings are deleted immediately and cannot be recovered.
Step 2 – Delete server backup (if enabled)
If you have enabled the encrypted backup, send us an email with the subject "Data deletion" to:
We will delete all data stored on our server within 30 days. Because we cannot link your backup hash to your identity, your email address alone is sufficient — no proof of identity is required.
What happens when you uninstall?
When you uninstall the app, all local data is automatically deleted by the operating system. Server-side backup data remains until you request deletion by email.
